Performance Simulation Test

Performance Simulation Tests are also known as performance test or simulation test. These test measure the ability of applicants to do some parts of the work for which they are to be hired. The purpose of performance simulation tests is to assess the applicant’s performance on the specific task that are representative of the actual job. As performance tests are designed for a specific job, there are many different versions. Examples would be a typing test (for typists), mechanic tool identification, editing skills etc. Performance tests appear to be good predictors of the job success and studies have revealed that these tests are more valid than paper-and-pencil (written) tests. These tests have become very popular now-a-days. This is because of the fact that they are based on job analysis data and therefore easily meet the requirements of the job relatedness as compared to the written tests.
